Your journey. Your data.

Privacy policy.

RIDGE is built around device-local progress and an account-free walking experience.

Effective October 30, 2026 · Operator: Alexander Ouellet

RIDGE does not send your Health step counts, journey progress, or achievements to an advertising service, analytics system, or a RIDGE account server.

What this policy covers

This policy describes the RIDGE iPhone app, its widget and paired Watch companion, and this website. RIDGE is preparing for public launch. Development screens on the website are previews. Apple Health, the App Store, and other Apple services have their own privacy terms.

Apple Health steps

With your permission, RIDGE reads step counts from Apple Health to update your virtual journey and inform walking recommendations and pacing plans. It reads cumulative and daily step totals, including recent completed days. It does not request permission to write Health data.

Health-derived steps, progress, and achievements are not used for advertising, marketing profiles, or analytics. They are not added to purchase profiles or crash breadcrumbs. You can change RIDGE's access in Apple Health at any time. Denied access, missing data, or delayed updates can limit progress updates.

Information kept on your devices

The app stores route selection, journey progress, plan preferences, companion appearance, achievements, and recent walking summaries locally. Its shared app container allows the iPhone app and widget to use the same saved journey. Journey snapshots can also be sent to your paired Watch companion through Apple's device connectivity services.

Journey and experience files, including their local recovery copies, are excluded from device backup by the app. RIDGE does not provide its own iCloud sync, account-based recovery, or remote storage for this information. Apple's handling of original Health records is separate and follows your Apple settings.

Membership and payment

Membership purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. RIDGE reads purchase and entitlement information provided by Apple to determine current membership access and restore eligible purchases. RIDGE does not receive your payment card details. Subscription and billing records held by Apple are governed by Apple's terms and privacy practices.

Website visits

This website has no signup form, analytics SDK, advertising pixel, or marketing cookie. Fonts and artwork are served with the site. Visiting it does not connect to your Health data or your local RIDGE journey.

The website is hosted by Vercel. As part of delivering and protecting the website, Vercel may process technical request information such as an IP address, request URL, browser information, and timestamps. See Vercel's Privacy Notice for its practices. A website without marketing trackers still requires ordinary network requests to load.

Support information

If you email RIDGE at support@walkwithridge.com or another walkwithridge.com address, the information you choose to provide will be used to address your request. Email to these addresses is received and stored by our email provider, Resend, and forwarded to the operator's inbox. Please avoid sending Health records, detailed activity histories, or other sensitive information unless it is necessary for your question. General troubleshooting is available on the support page.

Your choices and retention

You can revoke Health access and manage Health records in Apple Health. Saved RIDGE data remains local while the app and its local storage remain installed. Removing the app can remove that data; a paired device may retain a previously received snapshot until its corresponding app data is removed. Deleting RIDGE does not cancel an Apple subscription or delete original Health records.

There is no RIDGE account to delete. We do not keep a server copy of your local journey to retrieve or erase on request. Questions about this policy can be raised through the contact information provided on the support page when available.

Changes

This page will be updated if RIDGE's data practices change. The effective date above identifies the current policy. New uses of Health data or new data collection will require an updated explanation and any permissions required for that use.
